Tang Wei in "Golden Age" [Roast Pork Sliced From A Rusty Cleaver] (飲水思源)

Tang Wei and Feng Shaofeng began shooting in the frigid icy city of Harbin for Ann Hui's new film "Golden Age" in mid-December. The film is based on a screenplay by Li Qiang, Tang Wei plays Xiao Hong, a prominent female writer of the the 1930's who died tragically young at the age of 30 in Hong Kong. A large cast depicting the literary figures in the May 4th Movement is expected. [Update: another film about Xiao Hong, "Falling Flowers" was released last year.]

This looks promising. I never heard of Xiao Hong before, but after reading her wiki entry her life definitely has enough drama for the big screen. Now I'm curious to read some of her stories. I see that Amazon has a bilingual English/Chinese collection. ;)

Me neither. Her Chinese wikiepedia page adds the additional detail that her ashes were buried in two places in HK. One in a cemetery that was disrupted by real estate development and her ashes subsequently lost before reinternment and another on a slope of a hill on the temporary medical station where she died and which can't be located anymore!!!
